Global IT Virtual 5K

 Global IT Virtual 5K

Hopefully you all saw the email last week announcing the new IT Well-Being Team.  We’re excited to announce our first Well-Being Event, a Virtual 5K for all of IT globally.
Whether you’re an experienced runner or just interested in walking a 5K for the first time, this event is for YOU!  Finally, something that fits into your busy schedule and allows you to participate in your own way and on your own time!

Ok, but…what’s a Virtual 5K?
A virtual 5K is a walking/running event that can take place at any location (yes, that means no excuses for OUS participants!). You can walk, use the treadmill, run outside or participate in a local race.  Just get out there and get moving!
And how does this work?
The virtual 5K can be done any way at any time during the week of September 9-17.  Completion of the 5K (3.1 miles) distance is on the honor system…and we trust you, IT colleagues!  Simply flag your completion on our registration site and upload a picture of you while completing the event or just after finishing it.
Who can participate?
Anyone!  Young or old, fast or slow – we encourage participants of all fitness & ability levels.  Feel free to involve your friends and family…we’d love to see them in your posted picture as well!
Is there any completion reward?
Of course there is!  Each Lilly participant who uploads a picture will be entered into a drawing for one of several prize packs.  Furthermore, the business unit with the highest percentage of team members participating, will get bragging rights, so go and spread the word to your colleagues! (Note:  prize eligibility will be based on local HR policies, which may differ across our affiliates.)

Sounds great! How can I participate?
To participate in the event, use the following link:
1.  Register as a participant.
2.  Print your “bib”.
3.  Complete the distance by walking, running, jogging…in ANY way on ANY day between Sept 9 and Sept 17.
4.  Take a picture of yourself holding or wearing your bib while completing the distance or immediately after.
5.  Post your picture to celebrate your success and motivate others!

Don’t forget to follow us on our new Loop group: IT Well-Being to stay up to date on Well-Being information and offerings, including pictures shared by your colleagues of their participation in the 5K!  If you have questions about the Well-Being Team or the 5K Event, please contact any of the team members below.

Thanks!
