Office365 News and Updates

Welcome to 1st edition of the Elanco Commercial IT Newsletter on Office365!

The goal of this communication is to bring to your attention the most important updates that we want you to know, with links to further information, and to reduce the amount of updates via one-off emails.

This newsletter will be shared and updated on an as needed basis.

FEATURED

  • Office365

As you know Lilly is moving to the Microsoft Cloud, started in 2017 with Office 2016 and Outlook eMail.

Now next steps are upcoming:

A bunch of additional and new tools and capabilities will be deployed (such as Microsoft Teams, PowerApps, Flow, …) will be provided to the business globally.

The official GIS timing is Q3-2018, but almost all tools and capabilities are currently available - except SharePoint online - but since many of the Office365 tools are connected, the licenses were automatically turned on during the launch of the new Search (Delve). The capabilities are there, but yet to be communicated widely to the business.

Purpose of this communication:

We want to give you a better (first time?) understanding of WHAT is coming in some detail. We - Marcus, Amy, Kawinwat (Tee) - setup an “Office365 Elanco IT Community” to be diving deeper into Roadmap details and to share details with you. This is primarily that not each of us within Elanco IT need to invest that much time in it. We plan to do this on your behalf to minimize your effort. Makes sense?

WHAT is coming:

A Microsoft suite with lots of new/additional capabilities that will help the business to be working more productive.
A complete overview of what will be avialable in Lilly/Elanco, please ==> click here.

Sharing of each applications will be:

  • short description
  • Key new capabilities
  • Elanco Global IT Community Focus
  • overall business impact level (high, medium, low)
  • Key business impact (details)
  • Elanco IT Postioning
  • Deployment Plan Date + Status

WHEN

  • For IT: It´s all there technically for those that know it (just open www.office.com, sign in with your corporate email address, that´s it).
  • For Business: Although these tools are technically available for people to use, GIS is in the process of building OCM materials, planned to launch in October announcing General Availability.

HOW

This will NOT be a push deployments. GIS is handling it as an OFFER, means, you “can use” it - and that´s key! - IF we from IT recognize the value add to the business and wants to recommend the use to the business partners.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

  1. HIGH POTENTIAL opportunities are coming: With Microsoft Flow, PowerApps and SharePoint there can be built workflows and user GUIs etc that will enable the business to “work less and do more” (get rid of recurring time consuming non value adding tasks by automation)
  2. SharePoint 365 can be used on iPad much easier than before (check-out/-in is no longer a problem on iPad)
  3. There are additional tools available within the Office365 suite such as Tasks, Planner, To-Do, and Delve, which will all enhance a user’s experience but will simply be additional capabilities.

You may find all details in the “Offce365 - Tool Overview” slide set we created.

MAY WE ASK YOU…

  • Please do NOT promote this Office365 suite to our business partners at this time. We first need to better understand the impact of the Elanco Strategic Review

  • Share with us the use cases for your business that you know they would be benefitting from (increase productivity, reduce operation work, streamline processes, etc.).

  • Please provide a short feedback to see if you agree or not on our statement/positioning/etc., after you have had a closer look to the slide provided above.

LET US KNOW!
