Indianapolis hosted their annual Pride fest and parade on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
With over 50,000 attendees enduring the very hot 90-degree (32C) day, the festival kicked off with the Cadillac Barbie parade taking over Mass Ave. downtown.
The festival kicked off Pride Month on May 31 with a fundraiser at Sanctuary on Penn. hosted by Salesforce. Both Lilly and Elanco were represented as people gathered to network, support, and raise money for the events.
What used to be a humble 15-minute parade is now a 2-hour celebration. The Pride Parade has grown from one float, some antique vehicles, and a handful of walking groups, to include well over 100 floats. More than 200 Eli Lilly associates walked in this year’s parade, celebrating inclusion at work and in life.
