Elanco IT Student Recruitment Programs

What are the Student/Internship Programs?
For more than 30 years Eli Lilly has run a highly successful student program out of the UK. Over that time Lilly/Elanco have attracted talent across the UK and seen significant business impact. The program takes students at the end of their second year of University for 12 months working in teams on real and highly impactful projects. Feedback from business partners has also been very strong often seeing our students as experienced employees speaking volumes for the benchmark set in previous years.

In the US, 12 week Internships are given to selected students providing varied experiences structured to acquaint them with Elanco.  Primarily a role within an identified project designed to utilize learnings from school and work experiences providing value to Elanco. Throughout the program there are opportunities to learn about the many diverse cultures and the community. The interns are provided coaching/feedback about their work, networking events with colleagues and opportunities to learn about the diverse culture of the organization.

What does this mean for the new Elanco?
As we enter the new Elanco securing the very best talent continues to be paramount to our success. Leveraging student programs in the US and UK will be a core element of this approach.
As such in the UK, we will take the very best of the Lilly program and stand up our own Elanco UK Student Program. The aim to secure the talented students for a new intake starting July 2019.
We have recently hit a key milestone and are now at a stage where we are ready to start recruitment for student placement for roles we have identified with Elanco leadership.
Over the coming months leading to the end of the year we hope to have closed out all recruitment activity and have our next UK student intake ready to start in July of 2019.
The US program team have also been incredibly busy focusing on key campus recruitment activities including visits to Purdue and Indiana as a new Elanco entity.  Follow-up interviews have been completed and candidate offers have been sent. In the future there will be additional universities targeted as well as schools for specific roles as-needed. The US internship program will begin in May 2019 for a 12 week period.

Beyond 2018 we look to grow both programs and collaborate closely to continue the acquisition of IT talent.
