Only got a minute: Here’s what you need to know from ETS:
- We published a Windows 10 Laptop Unboxing Video here
- Our second Datacentre Colocation build is underway
- Wave 2 OCM communication session complete.
Service Management - Ben Nuthak
- Begin with TheSpot.Elanco.com. If you don’t find what you need in the Knowledge Base, use the Feedback at the bottom of the Knowledge articles.
Training and OCM - Jo Joss
- We’ve finalised the Wave 2 training offering and socialised this with the whole of IT. We’re begun building out some knowledge articles for end users in Service Now e.g.
- Getting Started with Microsoft Teams
- Getting Started with Zoom
- We’re working through the logistics of what Wave 3 training will look like and which sites will need what level of support.
Network - Paul Graham
- We have been working on the logistics of bringing all the network equipment and engineers to the Equinix facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands to begin the build of our second data centre.
- This location will mirror our initial site in Ashburn and bring our resilient services into operation, which also enables the disaster recovery architecture for our private cloud.
- As a result of the complexity of the systems, the build will take 2 weeks to complete, so we should be able to report completion of the work in the next update…
Workplace - Mike Chilvers
- Elanco workplace is very close to confirming the device (laptop and desktop) choice and should be ready to announce the new device catalogue in a matter of weeks. Our WWT partners have shown us the on boarding process for these new devices, which means a simple, quick and fully guided setup for your new laptop/desktop - it’s a ‘like at home’ experience. The Windows 10 OS will be as light as possible, this means it’ll be quick and simple to use, no annoying pop ups or complex restrictions!
- Over the next few of weeks we’ll be testing our migration from the current data and collaboration environments, preparation is already underway. Once complete, we’ll be able to release more guidance on the migration experience.
Automation - Sam Stenton
- Automation have setup automated GitHub repo creations and started work to build out cloud catalogue items within Embotics.
- We’ve also brought two new members into the team!
?
Cloud – Calum Bell
- We have successfully fulfilled the Infrastructure requests which we’ve received here.
- We’ve completed the automation of clearing the Lab environments and are releasing documentation on how that works and how exceptions can be managed.
- We’re working across workstream to help support some of the challenges with the VPN and working with EDNA to enable access to Data resources by creating a Jumpbox.
- Our focus is now to continue delivering the rest of the core infrastructure in production.
Identity – Calum Bell
- We are working with GSIT to create an obfuscated environment to keep Elanco PI secure and enable an agile software development flow for Identity.
- We are continuing to mature the integration between RSA and active directory.
- During a hackathon with the local ETS engineers, we successfully implemented SSO on Github in just under an hour, proving that Azure AD can go beyond authentication to also perform group management within Github.
- We have now integrated our Embotics (automation) tool with Active Directory.
